I was recently given the privilege to participate in a "lunch & learn" with members of the Healthcare Leaders Association of the Miami Valley (HLAMV) where I presented “Identifying Your Silent Superstars”. About 5 years ago I was challenged internally to participate in a 5K run. I thought:”Why would any sane person, especially an out-of-shape 58-year old man, want to do something like that?” �� I am proud to say that I have now completed 30 runs of various distances (5K to 15K). I have discovered that running successfully, however one may define success, includes many leadership qualities. Among these qualities are staying consistent & present, staying energetic, working with a team, renewing and challenging yourself.

My newest running challenge is right around the corner as I participate in the 2023 Labor Day Mackinac Bridge Run. I am confident that this 4.3 mile run at daybreak across The “Mighty Mac” with 699 of my closest friends will be a memorable challenge in many ways. What a glorious morning it shall be.
